In comparison to traditional solutions such as standard cable glands the cable density is greatly increased. Furthermore, the required mounting time is considerably shorter compared to multiple cable glands, since only one cut-out has to be made for several dozen lines and only one cable entry plate has to be installed. This combined with a reduction of required space make the icotek cable entry plate solution a great choice.
Cable entry plates – the cable gland alternative
The icotek cable entry plates are available in a wide range of round and rectangular designs. With an installation height of 8 to 14.5 mm, they are very flat and have a smooth and even surface. Dirt recesses are thereby prevented, making them suitable for the use in medical, food packaging and cleanroom applications. In addition, icotek cable entry plates are detergent resistant (ECOLAB certified).
The cable entry plates consist of a robust plastic or metal frame which is completely moulded with elastomer. The front of the cable entry plate has pierceable membranes to accommodate a range of cable diameters, on the back there are conical cable sleeves to ensure a double sealing of the cables with certified protection rating of up to IP68 (acc. to EN 60529) and UL Type 4X* (acc. to UL 50-E). This unique grommet design also provides a good strain relief.

Depending on the model, it can be either mounted with screws, simply plugged into the cut-out without tools, or be fixed with a locknut. The required cut-outs are either metric standard cut-outs (M20 - M85) or correspond to standard cut-outs of 16- and 24-pin heavy-duty connectors. The assembly of the cable entry plates can be done within seconds. Simply put a small slit into the thin membrane and push the cable through. Check out our assembly video and convince yourself.
Large variety of cable entry plate types
The different series of icotek multi cable entry plates offer a wide range of application possibilities:
- icotek offers the cable entry plate KEL-DPU 24 with protection classes IP66/IP68 / UL Type 4X* for the highest demands on ingress protection, robustness and hygiene. A tool-free plug-in mounting is possible.
- The rectangular cable entry plates KEL-DPZ and KEL-DPR are available in numerous sizes / configurations and offer a high degree of ingress protection (up to IP66) and a very high cable density.
- The round version of the cable entry plate KEL-DPZ can be mounted into metric cutouts from M25 to M63 and fixed with a locknut without the need of tools. The double sealing of the cables enables a high ingress protection IP66/IP68 / UL Type 4X*.
- Depending on the design, the cable entry plates in the KEL-DP product range can be plugged into rectangular and metric round cut-outs quickly and without tools. They allow a sealing of the cables with protection classes up to IP65.
- For routing supply lines with diameters of up to 115 mm icotek offers innovative pyramid shaped cable entry grommets KEL-DPF, KEL-JUMBO flex and KEL-ULTRA flex, which are perfectly flexible for feeding rigid supply cables at angles with very little effort.
- For applications with lower requirements on ingress protection icotek offerscable pass-through plates with brush seal, specifically designed to feed cables easily into server racks, control panels and through raised floors and walls.

Approvals and standards such as flame class UL 94-V0, IP and UL rated ingress protection, UL recognized, DNV, RINA, EN 45545-2 and ECOLAB detergent resistance enable icotek cable entry systems to be real alternatives to conventional cable glands.
